Search for Zahra comes up empty

October 14, 2010

Investigators came up empty Thursday in the search for Zahra Baker.
Maj. Clyde Deal with the Hickory Police Department said the search for clues in Baker's disappearance turned up nothing.
In the days since Baker was reported missing, police searched property in Burke County, including draining a pond. Deal declined to say the exact location of the property or how many locations are being searched.
Deal said leads in the investigation, not information from Baker's stepfather Adam Baker, led police to search Burke County, and he said further leads in the investigation will determine where police continue the search.
Police have yet to rule anyone out as a person of interest in the case, including Adam Baker. Deal said Baker is assisting police in their investigation and spent time with investigators during the search.
Anyone with information in Baker's disappearance is asked to call Hickory Police Department at (828) 328-5551.
