April 1, 2013

Two men were arrested for meth charges around 8:30 p.m. on  Friday, March 29.

Newton Police Captain Tim Hayes said officers originally visited the address, 728 E 18th Street, Newton because of information on a subject. The officers received information on a subject that was believed to be staying at the address.

When the officers reached the home to serve a warrant for the subject, they said an unknown man fled from the home. The man was apprehended and officers then asked the home owner, if they could search the residence.

During the search, Hayes said officers found a grocery bag full of supplies in the well house at the home. The bag was full of by-products of methamphetamine.
