Search continues for teens

The search for two Catawba County teens from Sherrills Ford continues after other searches come up empty handed.

Jake Ziegler, 18, and Ray Pierce, 17, were last seen on Oct. 13 when they told friends they were headed to Myrtle Beach. Searches were conducted last week around Myrtle Beach, Conway and in the Fairfield County area in South Carolina. The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department also searched the stretch of I-77 near exit 48 where the boys last cell phone activity was detected.

“Nothing in our county has come up over the last few days of searching,” Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department Administrator Terrie Smith said.
