Scoring for schools

The 27th Annual Catawba Valley Classic adds another chapter to its long history this weekend.

“I predict it will be a great tournament, with great sponsors,” said Clay Creech, director of the Classic since 2011.

Six of the eight teams in the field represent Catawba County, including Bunker Hill, Fred T. Foard, Hickory, Maiden, Newton-Conover and St. Stephens high schools.
