Marilyn Joyce Ballard Baker, 67, of Conover, formerly of Lincolnton, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Lincolnton, after a long period of declining health.  The Baker family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation in Conover.

Patricia Ann Cline McAlister, 76, of East Maiden Road, Maiden, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Burke Mortuary in Maiden is serving the McAlister Family.

Bill Harvey, who served as Duke's head wrestling coach for 31 years until retiring in 1997, died Feb. 29, 2012. He was 76.  Arrangements for the Harvey family are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.

Doris Ann Spencer, 70, of Lincolnton, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at CMC- Lincoln.  E. F. Drum Funeral Home is serving the Spencer family.

Richard Glenn “Bud” Spencer, 88, of Conover, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.  The Spencer family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation in Conover.
