Shelva Jean Beard Spencer, 75, of Catawba, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Spencer family.

Hemeter “Bud” Harding Sigmon, 91, of Conover, died peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba County.  The Sigmon family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Conover.

Verna Gardner Murray, 66, of Newton, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Murray family.

Tassie Marie Coulter Boyce, 56, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Hickory is handling arrangements.
