On Dec. 24, children tucked tightly in their beds will wait anxiously, looking forward to ripping through bows and shiny wrapping paper to get to their gifts on Christmas morning.

Not all children have the luxury of a list of toys from Santa, but Conover Police Department is working to ensure that those children get to share in the joy of Christmas as well..

Officers from Conover PD work with the community in a program called Santa Cops to provide toys to children who wouldn’t otherwise have them.
