A goal by Kenan Ruffner and strong defensive play allowed the Fred T. Foard soccer team to pick up its eight win of the season and sixth shutout.
“Coming into tonight’s game we knew Hibriten was coming off of a draw with St. Stephens on Monday,” said Tigers coach Scottie Goforth. “We wanted to make sure we took advantage of our possession and take care of the ball. I feel like the boys did that really well.”
Ruffner’s goal came at the 24th minute on a corner kick by Khong Lo. The kick went in front of the net and was driven in on a header by Ruffner.
“Our passing was just there for us tonight,” Goforth said. “We got a nice goal from Kenan Ruffner on that corner. Our chances were close. We had several opportunities that went wide.”
The Tigers were able to maintain the pace of the game on their way to the NWC victory.
Goforth gave credit to his midfielder.
