Rudisill's six-hitter gives Hickory 2-1 series lead

July 3, 2014

Aaron Rudisll tossed a complete game six-hitter, helping Hickory Post 48 take a 2-1 series lead against Alexander County Post 170 with a 6-1 victory on Thursday in Taylorsville.

The pitching performance comes just two days after Rudisill suffered a hip injury while being hit during an at bat.

Cameron Chapman and Jordan Eckard led Post 48 offensively in the victory.

Chapman went 4-for-5 from the plate with a home run, while Eckard had a double and scored two runs.

Dylan Dessecker and Tad Ratcliff each had two hits for Post 170, while Alexander County pitcher Riley Smith took the loss Thursday.

Game four will be played Friday at 7 p.m. with a game five (if necessary) back in Taylorsville on Saturday at 7 p.m.
