Road blocked to restore electricity

April 5, 2011

Portions of Providence Mill Road in Maiden are blocked Tuesday afternoon as crews work to restore power after a reported tornado ripped through the area.

Some Maiden residents were still without power Tuesday afternoon after the storm toppled trees and power lines.

Duke Energy released a statement on its website saying that more than 200,000 of the company's customers were without power as of Tuesday at 5 a.m.
