Recovery efforts underway throughout county

Catawba County Emergency Management has formally requested disaster assistance from the State of North Carolina for victims of the July 27 flooding.

A letter asking for state disaster assistance was sent to the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management on Monday.

The letter outlined the need for additional consideration based on over 475 residential and business properties identified with flood damage and significant agricultural losses.
