PREP NOTEBOOK: Tuesday's scores, postponements

Four prep contests in soccer and tennis were postponed on Tuesday due to weather.

Bunker Hill at Bandys and Maiden at Draughn tennis will both be played on Wednesday, weather permitting.

Fred. Foard at Hickory soccer, which was postponed from Monday, was moved to Thursday.

Newton-Conover hosts West Caldwell next Monday for a pivotal soccer match.

Prep volleyball

Fred T. Foard 3, Alexander Central 1

The Lady Tigers roared to a conference victory Tuesday against the Lady Cougars 25-15, 25-20, 17-25 and 25-19.

Kaitlin Sigmon led Foard (17-5, 7-2) with five aces and 10 digs. Rebecca Scott added 25 assists and 16 digs.

Bandys 3, Bunker Hill 2

The Lady Trojans edged out the Lady Bears in a five-set marathon on Tuesday 25-23, 26-24, 18-25, 29-31 and 16-14.

Kayla Champion led Bandys (8-10, 7-4) with six aces, eight kills, four blocks, 11 digs and one assist.

Chyenne Pump tallied 14 kills, five aces and three blocks for Bunker Hill (6-13, 5-6), while Megan Fair added 20 kills, three blocks and 42 digs.

Newton-Conover 3, West Caldwell 0

The Lady Red Devils earned a home conference victory Tuesday against the Lady Warriors 25-10, 25-9 and 25-17.

Newton-Conover improves to 8-11 overall and 6-5 in the CVAC.

Maiden 3, Draughn 1

The Lady Blue Devils defeated the Lady Wildcats on Tuesday 25-18, 21-25, 25-10 and 25-16.

Mckenzie Garrison led Maiden (13-4, 9-2) with 19 kills and two blocks, while Rachel Houston made seven kills and seven blocks.

St. Stephens 3, South Caldwell 0

The Lady Indians defeated the Lady Spartans on Tuesday 28-26, 25-15 and 25-18.

Jenna Boliek led St. Stephens (18-1, 9-1) with 11 kills, while Breanna Hall added 10 kills.

Prep soccer

Draughn 2, Maiden 0

The Blue Devils were defeated in Valdese by the Wildcats on Tuesday in shutout fashion.

Maiden falls to 0-10 overall and 0-7 in CVAC.
