Prep soccer
Bandys 4, East Burke 2
Kenny Ryan and Zach Beresford each scored two goals to lead the Trojans to the victory Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Bandys improves to 6-12 overall and 5-8 in the CVAC, while East Burke falls to 7-10-1 overall and 5-8 in conference play.
College volleyball
CVCC 3, Guilford Tech C.C. 0
The Lady Bucs picked up their 30th straight win to start the season with a three-set shut out against Guilford Tech Community College 25-15, 25-20 and 25-12.
Jennifer Beatty led CVCC (30-0, 18-0) with 13 kills, 11 digs and two aces, while Leah Well added nine kills and five aces.
Defensively, Hannah Lewis recorded a team-high 17 digs.
The Lady Bucs final regular season match will be at home on Friday at 6 p.m. against Johnston Community College.
Catawba Valley will head to the Region X/District P Tournament as the No. 1 seed next Friday, Nov. 2nd.
