PREP NOTEBOOK: Trojans snap long losing streak

The Bandys boys basketball team snapped a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season with a 63-47 victory on Monday against the Knights.

It was the Trojans' second win in their past 52 games.

Hunter Lackey scored a team-high 19 points for Bandys (1-1), while Chris Sorenson chipped in 14 points.

Hunter Caldwell led North Lincoln (3-1) with 15 points.

Before Monday, the last win by the Bandys boys basketball team on the court was on Dec. 29, 2011 against West Lincoln in the People's Bank Holiday Clash tournament.

Monday's victory for the Trojans is also the first for new head coach Scott Stilwell.

Girls basketball

Bandys 93, North Lincoln 51

The Lady Trojans notched their second victory of the season with a blowout against the Lady Knights.

Hailey Lackey led Bandys (2-0) with a team-high 19 points. Sarah Goble added 16 points, and Madi Story tallied 14 points, seven steals and six assists.

Leading North Lincoln was Ace Easter with 19 points, while Kayla Bruchett recorded 13 points.
