PREP NOTEBOOK: Tigers blank Trojans on court

The Fred T. Foard volleyball team bounced back from a tough conference loss with a straight-sets victory over Bandys on Wednesday 26-24, 25-23 and 25-18.

Morgan Smith led Foard (13-5) with seven kills, while Madison Hayes added six kills.

Gaosee Vang paced Bandys (6-6) with 25 asssists, four aces, five kills and five blocks.

The Tigers were shut out on the road Thursday against the Panthers.

Foard falls to 11-2 overall and 2-2 in the Northwestern 3A/4A.

South Iredell 3, Bandys 1

The Trojans fell on the road in Statesville to the Vikings on Wednesday.

Armanda Rivera scored the lone goal for Bandys (3-5, 2-1) on an assist from Zach Beresford.

East Burke 5, Maiden 2

Tied 2-2 at halftime, the Cavaliers scored three second half goals on their way to a road victory over the Blue Devils on Wednesday.

Jimmy Vang and Christian Garcia both scored goals for Maiden (0-6, 0-3).
