PREP NOTEBOOK: Story scores 41, 1,000th in win

Madi Story scored 41 points in Bandys’ 97-46 playoff victory over Central Davidson on Monday.
Story, who finished the night 17-of-23 from the field, also scored her 1,000th career point for the Lady Trojans (25-2).

Taylor Sigmon added a double-double for Bandys with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Jesse Story pitched in 14 points.

Newton-Conover 82, West Lincoln 25

Behind 24 points from Shynese Whitener and 22 points from Taylor Petty, the Lady Red Devils advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

N-C senior Kadesha Gibbs also recorded her 1,000th career rebound as a Lady Red Devil.

She finished the night with 12 points.

Sophomore Lanecia Williams also scored 12 points.
