Behind a no-hitter thrown by pitcher Hannah Callahan, the Maiden girls softball team earned a 11-0 victory on the diamond against Lincolnton on Wednesday.
Emily Crouse led the Lady Blue Devils (1-0) offensively, going 2-3 from the plate with a pair of doubles.
Callahan struck out 10 Lincolnton batters and walked two in her no-hit performance.
Maiden plays again today at 6 p.m. when it travels to Ashbrook.

Caroline Durham and Taylor Rios each scored a pair of goals to lead the Lady Tigers (2-0) to a win against the Lady Bears on Wednesday.
Liz Bell, Angela Lo and Carmen Winstead also pocketed a goal each for Foard.
With the loss, Bunker Hill falls to 0-1 to start the season.
Hickory 5, Newton-Conover 0
The Red Tornadoes picked up their second victory of the season behind pitcher Coan McApline's 14 strikeout performance.
Nick Guarnio and Zach Killian drove in two runs each for Hickory (2-0).
Maiden 5, Lincolnton 0
Randal Ortiz drove in two runs to lead Maiden to its first win of the season on the diamond.
Dustin Hipps, Adam Houston and Dillion Foster also drove in one run each, while Luke Setzer picked up the victory on the mound for the Blue Devils (1-1).View more articles in:
