PREP NOTEBOOK: Lady Tigers upset Lady Trojans

Girls basketball

Fred T. Foard 60, Bandys 56

The Lady Tigers delivered the Lady Trojans their first loss of the season Tuesday in Newton.

Chelsea Turner led Foard (4-2) with 19 points, while Courtney Hull added 10 points.

Foard's Kayla Whitworth also recorded her third-straight double-double in Tuesday's game. Whitworth tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Haleigh Lackey led Bandys (4-1) with 14 points.

Maiden 54, St. Stephens 41

Sabrien Gaither scored 21 points to lead the Lady Blue Devils to their second victory against the Lady Indians on Tuesday.

Christina Helms added 12 points for Maiden (2-3). Rachel Pritchard and Tamisha Streeter also scored in double digits for the Lady Blue Devils with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Jodi Kerley led St. Stephens (2-4) with eight points, while Autumn Williams and Keyona Hicks each added seven points.

North Lincoln 55, Bunker Hill 43

The Lady Knights kept the Lady Bears winless with a victory Tuesday in Claremont.

Payton Bruce led North Lincoln (5-2) with 17 points, while Ace Easter added 13 points.

Leading Bunker Hill (0-4) was Brittany Travis with 10 points.

Boys basketball

St. Stephens 66, Maiden 30

The Indians marched to 6-0 with a home victory Tuesday against the Blue Devils.

Kerigan Farley scored 18 points to lead Saint, while D.J Lynch and Alex Ijame each added 13 points.

Austin Wright scored a team-high nine points for Maiden (0-5).

Fred T. Foard 79, Bandys 43

The Tigers completed a season sweep of the Trojans with a victory Tuesday in Newton.

Joe Isenhour scored a game-high 19 points for Foard. Spencer Matthews and Jordan Turner each added 12 points, while Ketty Cameron tallied 10 points.

Chris Sorenson led Bandys (2-3) with 14 points.

North Lincoln 55, Bunker Hill 50

The Bears remain winless after a five-point home loss to the Knights on Tuesday in Claremont.

J'len Wilson scored a team-high 21 points to lead Bunker Hill (0-4), while A.J. Hines and Justin Setzer added 10 points each.

North Lincoln (6-1) was paced by Chase Sterling, who scored 19 points in Tuesday's game.
