Bunker Hill 65, Maiden 42
Behind 17 points from Jordan McGinnis and 13 points from J'lean Wilson, the Bears earned improved to 3-13 overall and 3-4 in the Catawba Valley 2A with a victory against the Blue Devils.
Matt Johnson scored a team-high 17 points for Maiden (6-8, 2-4)
Newton-Conover 54, South Iredell 42
The Red Devils picked up a CVAC victory against the Vikings on Friday.
Joshuwell McCombs powered Newton-Conover (9-7, 4-2) with 11 points, while Kevin Cline scored 10 points.
Colby Hal scored 11 points for South Iredell (3-12, 1-5), while Ray Ray Smith chipped in 10 points.
East Burke 68, Bandys 39
The Cavaliers (11-5, 5-1) got 56 of their 68 points in the game from Trevor Hyatt (33) and Clay Byrd (23), knocking off the Trojans.
Hayden Deal netted 19 points for Bandys, who falls to 1-15 overall and 0-7 in the CVAC.
Bandys 79, East Burke 45
The Lady Trojans (16-0, 7-0) remain undefeated by knocking off the Lady Cavaliers on Friday.
Sophomore Madi Story scored 26 points, assisted on four scores and grabbed four steals in the win. Taylor Sigmon added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Chelsey Queen scored 12 points and dished out seven assists.
Lauren Arney led East Burke (11-5, 4-2) with 13 points. Madison Tallent added 12 points.
Maiden 77, Bunker Hill 38
The Lady Blue Devils won their first CVAC game of the season, defeating the Lady Bears, who remain winless in conference play.
Sabrien Gaither scored a game-high 27 points for Maiden (7-8, 1-5).
Wilbelis Rojas and Brooke Blevins both scored 11 points to lead Bunker Hill (0-16, 0-7).
Newton-Conover 65, South Iredell 37
The Lady Red Devils keep pace at the top of the CVAC standings with a win against the Lady Vikings.
For Newton-Conover (13-3, 5-1), Shynese Whitener scored a game-high 23 points, Kadesha Gibbs scored 17 points and Taylor Petty tacked on 11 points.
