PREP NOTEBOOK: Indians drop second NWC game

The St. Stephens baseball team dropped its second conference game of the season on the diamond in a six-inning 13-3 loss to the Pioneers.

Watauga (7-4, 4-2) scored seven runs on six hits in the second inning, which propelled them to the victory.

Max Linnville led the Pioneers with a 3-for-4 performance from athe palte, including a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Dylan Beiland led the Indians (8-3, 4-2) with a 2-for-2 performance from the plate, including two runs scored.

Prep softball

Fred T. Foard 13, Hickory 2 (five innings)

Addie Bolick drove in three RBIs on a pair of doubles to lead the Lady Tigers to the conference victory over the Lady Red Tornadoes.

Lady Tigers Ashley Oliver and Oliva Purvis also drove in two RBIs each on two doubles.

Foard's Lexi Shubert pitched four innings, striking out eight batters.

St. Stephens 5, Watauga 1

Pitcher Katie Baker tossed a two-hit game against the Lady Pioneers to lead the Lady Indians to the conference victory.

St. Stephens catcher Molli Huffman went 3-for-4 from the plate, including two singles and a triple, as she plated three RBIs in the game.

Darian Fisher also scored two runs and drove in a run on a 2-for-2 performance offensively.
