Prep softball

Bunker Hill 10, Newton-Conover 3

The Lady Bears won a conference road game against the Lady Red Devils in Newton on Friday.

Courtney Adsit and Desirae Bebber both drove in two RBIs each to lead Bunker Hill, who improves to 3-1 in conference play.

Cierra Jones had two hits for the Lady Red Devils, who fall to 0-3 in the CVAC.

Kadi O'Shell pitched seven innings, allowing three runs and two walks, while striking out 10 Newton-Conover batters. N-C's Catherine Jones suffered the loss.

St. Stephens 14, Hickory 0

Briana Thornburg drove in 3 RBIs, while Vonna Wood and Taylor Lail both drove in two runs to lead the Lady Indians (6-5, 3-2) to the conference victory.

St. Stephens' Katie Baker allowed allowed one hits and two walks, while striking out 12 Hickory batters.

Fred T. Foard 3, Canon McMillan (Penn.) 1

Ashley Oliver, Rebecca Rowe and Addie Bolick each drove in an RBI to lead the Lady Tigers to the victory on Friday.

Lexi Shubert pitched seven innings, striking out 15 batters and allowing two hits. She allowed one unearned run in the sixth inning.

Bandys 3, Maiden 0

Angelina Hernandez, Rachel Medina and Katie Spaulding all pocketed goals for Bandys before the game was called with 38 minutes to go because of lightning.

Bandys' Monica Mayer assisted on the goals by Hernandez and Spaulding, while Medina's goal was unassisted.

Maria Carinci was the winning keeper for the Lady Trojans, saving three shots on goal.

Fred T. Foard 4, Polk County 0

Ashley Jolly scored two goals, while Caroline Durham and Brittany Bramwell each pocketed a goal to lead the Lady Tigers to the road victory against Polk County (3-4-0).

The Lady Tigers (7-2-2) travel to Asheville (4-2-3) on Saturday for another non-conference road game.
