Patrol seeks witnesses

The driver of an all-terrain vehicle died after an early morning accident Monday in Catawba County.

The accident happened about 5:30 a.m. Monday along Slanting Bridge Road about a half mile south of the bridge near Tradewinds Drive.

N.C. Highway Patrol officials said the rider, 30-year-old Joseph Hall, was not wearing a helmet.

No one else was injured in the crash.

According to Troopers, Hall was riding north on the shoulder of the road and as he approached the intersection of Tradewinds Drive he struck a culvert and lost control of the ATV.
Hall died at the scene.
