Patrick Henley ready for Junior Olympic appearance

John Henley knew his son was destined to be a gymnast after seeing his 7-year-old son Patrick backflip off of the family’s porch.

“He just decided he was going to flip and did it,” John said. “That’s when we said ‘oh my gosh.’” He decided he wanted to do gymnastics, and we started taking him.”

The now 19-year-old Claremont native looks to make a big splash on a national stage next week at the 2013 Men’s Junior Olympics in Portland, Ore.
