Orioles' Hunter Harvey makes pro baseball debut

July 23, 2013

Former Bandys High School pitcher Hunter Harvey made his professional debut on Friday for the Gulf Coast League Orioles.

Harvey allowed one hit and struck out one batter in one inning on the mound against the Gulf Coast League Rays.

“It felt really good,” Harvey said. “They are taking it slow with me.”

Harvey should gradually increase his innings pitched to two in his next start, three in his third start and so on.

Harvey said he expects his next scheduled start to take place either Thursday or Friday of this week.

The Orioles play the GCL Twins on both days at noon.
