Ordinance receives majority vote, doesn’t pass

The battle of yard sales ordinance still wages on for the city of Newton.

In last night’s meeting, the Newton City Council voted 4-3 in favor of the ordinance on yard sales with Mayor Anne Stedman’s vote breaking the tie.

Despite a majority vote, the ordinance did not pass.
