Newton man charged with assault on teen

A Newton man has been charged with soliciting and sexually assaulting a Taylorsville teen in a case being investigated by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. 

Tyler Devin Black, 20, of the 2800 block of North College Ave., Newton, has been charged in the case with First Degree Statutory Sex Offense, Disseminating Material Harmful to Minors, Soliciting a Child by Computer for Sex Act, Kidnapping, and two  counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor.
