Newton man arrested

A quite street in Newton was just the opposite Thursday afternoon when a domestic situation spilled out into the neighborhood.

Newton Police officers were summoned shortly after 5 p.m., to a residence at 109 West Herman St., when a female called, stating that her boyfriend had assaulted her and was running through the neighborhood chasing people with a baseball bat.

A second call, just a few minutes later from 520 South Ashe Ave., reported that a person had been assaulted in the yard.
