Newton Police Capt. Kevin Yarborough inspects a car accident in front of the First United Methodist Church in Newton Thursday.

A woman driving a black Toyota Camry was driving down N. Main Ave. when she slammed into the back of Honda Civic parked in front of First Methodist.

Newton fire department and police department responded to the accident. There were no injuries.

...could use a few more ill-timed and excessively long stop lights to prolong the trip through Downtown.

Has anybody considered that the numebr of traffic lights in Nwton is too many and it ticks drivers off so they speed up to get through town quicker and VOILA, accidents like above.

Of course if you ask ole Glenn Pattishall, you are gonna get "Its not MY fault, its the state DOT" who puts the light in. More buck passing.
