The Episcopal Church of St. Peter By-the-Lake will provide diverse musical experiences that engage, entertain and inspire in an inaugural season that features three concerts. n Saturday, Nov. 6, 6:30 p.m. — Wine and cheese reception. A concert at 7:30 p.m features the Earl’s Chair — traditional Celtic music, with Henry Lebedinsky (bouzouki and guitar) and Michael Albert (fiddle and whistles). This is an eclectic blend of Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, Quebecois and original music, from foot-stomping tunes to classic ballads. n Sunday, Nov. 27, 2 p.m. features The Half Dozen Brass Band – New Orleans-style jazz features an infectious blend of jazz, funk and Dixieland. n Sunday, May 8, 3 p.m. features Jessica Sherer, classical flutist — soloist, chamber musician and principal flutist in live and recorded performances with various orchestras. All concerts will take place at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter By-the-Lake, 8433 Fairfield Forest Road, in the Westport section of Denver. A reception will follow each concert, and audience members will have the opportunity to meet the performers. General admission (including all receptions and refreshments) tickets are adults $15, seniors (65 and above) and students $10 and children under 12 are free. The Lake Norman Garden Club's “Christmas Tour of Homes” will be held in the subdivision of Northview Harbour Sherrills Ford, Sunday, Dec. 5, from 3-7 p.m. Funds will be used toward a serenity-focused landscape plan for the new Sherrills Ford Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley facility. All tickets will sell in advance for $25 each and include a tour of four homes (an eclectic cottage, a traditional home, a Tuscan home and a cabin). A light fare will be served at the clubhouse, and unique gifts can be purchased. The East Lincoln High School Mustang Footlight Performers will perform"The Long Christmas Dinner," by Thorton Wilder as its annual holiday play. Performance are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10-11, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. Admission prices will be announced at a later date. Evening performances will be A dinner theater is offered for evening performances. "The Long Christmas Dinner" is based around the turn of the century to the early ‘40s. A play about life, death and family, it touches the hearts of its audience with warming moments of love, cold and bitter times of death, along with a little bit of good family humor sprinkled in. Support the performing fine arts of the school and also enjoy what promises to be nights filled with family friendly entertainment. Also, the East Lincoln High School Mustang Footlight Performers will host its annual holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. at Denver United Methodist Church. Admission will be $2.
