NCHS students get reality check

Newton-Conover High School students got a taste of reality Friday when it comes to drinking and driving.

Area firefighters, paramedics and police participated in a DWI wreck simulation for students at NCHS with one message in mind — don’t drink and drive.

About 500 students watched as first responders arrived to a mock wreck scene, freed injured passengers, arrested a drunk driver and provided care for one student who was “killed” in the collision.
