Nature trail gets facelift

After two years of hard work and dedication, Shuford Elementary parent Mark Pennell and the school’s Parent Teacher Organization are preparing to open the Shuford Elementary nature trail. The nature trail, located behind the elementary school, caught the attention of Mark Pennell after his daughter Saryn began going to the school.

Pennell said in the beginning of the project, he and his sons cleared out large amounts of debris from a past storm. He said the storm washed away trail paths and damaged the old outdoor classroom and bridge on the trail.
