May 21, 2012

A motorcyclist died Sunday after hitting a car on Mount Pleasant Road west of Terrell.

N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper R.G. Griffin said the motorcyclist struck a Volkswagen Passat head-on.

"All indications were (the motorcyclist) was moving pretty fast," Griffin said.

The driver of the Passat was transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

"He's doing all right," Griffin said. "I spoke with him last night."

Griffin said authorities will await a toxicology report to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
