McRee, Ikard race to replace Johnson as Maiden QB

For the first time in three years, Maiden High School has a battle for the top quarterback position.

Matt Johnson, a three-year starter at quarterback for the Blue Devils, graduated this past June after he tallied 1,789 passing yards, 1,077 rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns in 2011.

Now, two young men — junior Jake McRee and senior Kaleb Ikard — are vying for the right to replace Johnson and lead the Blue Devils' offense.
