Maiden Mayor Bob Smyre visited Mrs. Michele’s and Mrs. Brittnie’s four year old class at Rosenwald Preschool Academy on Wednesday, to promote the importance of reading.

Smyre read a couple of books to the class and fielded questions from his audience.

Smyre talked to them about how important it was to feed their mind with books, just as you would feed your belly with food.

“Reading to children is vital to their development,” Smyre said. “If a parent reads to their child everyday from an early age, they come to expect it.”
