Mayfield asks for a plea deal

January 9, 2013

A judge agreed Monday to a continuance for Jeremy Mayfield’s, a former NASCAR driver, case in Catawba County Superior Court this week.

David Freedman, Mayfields’ attorney, and the district attorney’s office appear to be trying to work out a deal according to sources in the Catawba County Justice Center.

Monday Mayfield said his goal right now is not to accept a plea deal that includes jail time.
