An international medical equipment manufacturer recently multiplied its impact on the global health care industry with an expansion of its Newton plant.
Sarstedt Inc., a German-headquartered medical and research company, completed a 50,000-square-foot automated storage and distribution center expansion at its plant off St. James Church Road.
The new distribution center increases the company's product storage space, distribution efficiency and supplier cost-effectiveness, officials said during a facility unveiling Friday.
"With this, Sarstedt has made a renewed commitment to Newton and Catawba County," said Peter Rumswinkel, vice president and general manager of Sarstedt's U.S. operations. "This day celebrates the dedication of a fantastic distribution facility."
