The man accused of murdering three people in a Conover mobile home was indicted Monday on five charges stemming from the March 15 shooting.
A Catawba County Grand Jury indicted Everette Porshau Hewitt, 32, of Claremont, on three murder charges, as well as assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted first-degree murder.
Hewitt allegedly shot and killed Wade Sigmon, 49, Susan Kay Blevins, 51, and Connie Kanipe Miller, 42, all of Conover, on March 15. Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid said Hewitt demanded money and started shooting inside Sigmon's mobile home on Emmanuel Church Road in Conover.
Hewitt also allegedly shot Joseph Burke, 38. Burke recovered from his injuries.
According to the indictments, Hewitt "did assault Joseph Burke with a firearm, a deadly weapon, with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury."
Hewitt remains in Catawba County jail with no bond. His next court appearance is set for today.
