Maiden's Lilly wins Classic title on scorecard playoff

October 8, 2012

For only the second time in its history, the Greater Hickory High School Classic was settled on a scorecard playoff.

Tied with a pair of 36s, Maiden's Thomas Lilly and Fred T. Foard's Christian Carpenter were separated by what they shot on the 18th hole.

Lilly's birdie score was better than Carpenter's par, as the Maiden senior golfer became the first Blue Devil to claim the Classic crown.
