Maiden woman faces drug charges

A Maiden woman was arrested on drug charges Sunday night after authorities caught her hiding in the bathroom of a mobile home.

Shannon Marie Matthies, 26, of 4312 Getaway Lane, is charged with five felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine; five felony counts of sell and deliver cocaine; two felony counts of conspiracy; two felony counts of trafficking in opium; one felony count of sell and deliver of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park; six felony counts of maintaining a vehicle or residence; and six counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

She was jailed on a $114,500 secured bond.

Sheriff's deputies went to the 2500 block of Southland Trail in Maiden on Sunday night with warrants for Matthies' arrest.

As deputies arrived, they saw Matthies fleeing into a mobile home. She was found in the bathroom and arrested.
