Maiden proposes tax drop

May 11, 2012

Maiden will attempt to lower tax rates once again in the coming fiscal year.

According to a recommended 2012-13 fiscal year budget prepared by Maiden Town Manager Todd Herms, the town will lower its property tax rate by one cent to 38 cents per $100 of valuation.

The reduced rate is the lowest of Catawba County’s municipalities and continues to reflect the town’s good fortunes in recent years.
