Maiden man faces drug, firearm charges

March 9, 2012

A Maiden man is in jail on a $125,000 bond after being found with nearly 200 Hydrocodone pills at his home.

Terry Lee Houston, 49, of 2348 Deerfield Drive in Maiden, was arrested and charged with trafficking opium or heroin and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He is being held in the Catawba County Jail.

Sheriff’s deputies say a citizen’s tip led them to Houston’s residence with suspicions that the felon had a firearm in his possession, said Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Joel Fish.

Fish said the deputy found a firearm as well as more than 190 Hydrocodone pills at the residence. Houston was subsequently arrested Thursday afternoon.

Houston was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
