Maiden man faces drug charges

March 8, 2012

Cops arrested a Maiden man on drug and child abuse charges after finding more than a half-pound of marijuana in his home Wednesday night.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office narcotics investigators and SWAT team members executed a search warrant at the Woodstream Drive home of Jarvis Lanard Miller, 27.

Miller is charged with two felony counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana; and one felony count each of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.

Miller is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse. Authorities said his girlfriend and child were in the home at 3496 Woodstream Drive during the arrest.

"Miller was under surveillance and investigation for over six months," said Narcotics Lt. Jason Reid. "The buys were made as controlled drug purchases with a confidential and reliable person."

Authorities said the investigation developed probable cause for the search warrant that was issued Wednesday.

Miller was released from the Crouse Detention Center in Lincoln County after posting a $10,000 secured bond.
