Maiden man convicted

November 19, 2013

MAIDEN — A Maiden man was convicted of eight felonies in Catawba County Criminal Superior Court.

Bryan Keith Harris, 35, was charged with possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of stolen goods, possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of larceny.

All crimes occurred in Feb. 2013 when Harris stole more than $10,000 in property, including an iPhone, from a pair of Maiden residents.

To track down the culprit, investigators used the iPhone’s Global Positioning System (GPA) to locate it and the other stolen items.
Subsequently, the remnants of a methamphetamine lab were also discovered in the possession of Harris along with the stolen goods.
