Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day weddings

Love was in the air, Thursday at the courthouse with 17 couples exchanging wedding vows and one couple renewing vows during the Valentine’s Day Weddings hosted by the Register of Deeds at the Catawba County Courthouse.

Tracy Pruitt and Donna Hicks Spencer have been gathering sponsors and hosting the event now for seven years. The special day featured a ceremony with Bishop Don Bledsoe officiating. After the ceremony the couple cut the cake and toasted to their new marriage.

Pruitt said in past years that her and Spencer did everything from the decorations to the photography, but with the help of sponsors the event has become bigger and better each year.
