Local man killed in Conover wreck

An elderly Conover man is dead and two women were taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center after an accident on County Home Road Wednesday.

A little after 1 p.m. two women and a man were riding in a gold  minivan when the vehicle ran off the road in front of 4280 County Home Rd. and struck a tree, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Henry Lee Fox, 67, of Conover,  a passenger in the minivan, was killed instantly in the accident. Fox was entrapped in the vehicle and had to be cut from the wreckage.
