Local golfers Thomas Lilly and Tyler Lail were among the top finishers at one of the most prestigious junior golf tournaments in the state of North Carolina.
Lilly, a junior at Maiden High School, finished fourth in scoring on Sunday among a field of 57 golfers at the 22nd Charles Tilghman Junior Championships.
He completed the tournament in 18th place at 7-over-par. Among boys age 15-16, he came in eighth.
Bunker Hill senior Tyler Lail, the reigning CVAC golfer of the year, finished in a tie for 28th with two other golfers.
Lail finished in a tie for 16th in his age category of 17-18 year old boys.
Two other regional golfers, Will Blalock and Archer Price, both of Gastonia, were among the top-10 finishers in the event.
Michael Hocker II, of Chapel Hill, won the tournament with a 5-under-par performance.
