LEGION ROUND UP: Heat upset Lincoln County

The Carolina Heat picked up a 13-3 upset victory against the Lincoln County Cardinals on Monday night.

Pitcher Chris Aronis led the Heat (3-9, 3-9) in the win by throwing seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out four Lincoln County batters.

Aronis also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk and an RBI. Aronis' three hits were part of 13 base knocks for the Heat.

Justin Aiken's walkoff hit to score Justin Wooten in the seventh inning ended the game via the 10-run mercy rule.

David Scoggins led the Cardinals (10-8, 8-4) with a two-out, two-run homer in the sixth inning.

Carolina plays again on Tuesday at Wingate University in a doubleheader against Union County (5-4, 5-4).
