October 19, 2013

CONOVER — Bernhard Langer has the outright lead by two shots after the second round of the Greater Hickory Kia Classic.

Langer was 4-under on Saturday to improve to 10-under at the tournament. He leads a trio of golfers, including Michael Allen, Brad Bryant and John Riegger, by two strokes.

Tied for the lead heading into round two, Anders Forsbrand finished even-par on Saturday. He is one of three golfers tied for seventh place.

Dick Mast, who was also tied with Langer and Forsbrand for the lead after Friday's place, shot 3-over-par to drop into a tie for 17th place.

Defending GHKC champion Fred Funk was also 3-over-par — the first time in 19 rounds at Rock Barn that Funk had shot over par. He is even for the tournament and tied for 37th place.

Schwab Cup points leader Kenny Perry, who Langer is chasing for the top spot in the standings, is at 3-under for the tournament in a tie for 17th after a round of 69 on Saturday.
