The St. Stephens softball team fell in nine innings on Thursday, losing 4-3 to Enka in the third round of the 3A softball playoffs.

A sacrifice fly by Enka’s Addison Harris with one out in the ninth inning plated the winning run.

Pitcher Katie Baker had no walks and struck out 18 batters in her final game for the Lady Indians (16-8).

Jodi Kerley led Saint offensive with a double and an RBI. Taylor Lail also had a double for the Lady Indians, while Darian Fisher added a single.

The Saint loss comes nearly one year to the day that the Lady Indians knocked off the Lady Jets, 3-2, in last year’s second round of the 3A playoffs.

Enka advances to meet the winner of Fred T. Foard (22-4) and Franklin (15-5), who play at 6 p.m. on Friday.
