L-R men victorious, Lady Bears fall in close contests

Leading by as many as 12 points, the Lenoir-Rhyne men’s basketball team held off a late charge by Tusculum (7-10, 4-5) to win on Wednesday.

The Bears improve to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in the South Atlantic Conference.
L-R’s Kevin Davis scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the victory.

Tusculum 68, Lenoir-Rhyne 65

Tied with 3:46 left in the game, the Lady Pioneers outscored the Lady Bears 11-8 in the game’s waning moments to pick up the conference victory.

Jama Hammontree and Kendal Baxter led Tusculum (13-4, 7-2) with 11 points apiece.

Cameron Sealey led L-R (13-5, 5-4) with a game-high 18 points.
